During a trip to Costa Rica I was inspired by the native arts and rich flora and fauna. I was particularly interested in the stone statues made by the BriBri people, which had so much life and character. To me, it was as if the figure had just paused to be observed for a moment, before returning to the thick of their mythic quest. 

Running with this idea, I incorporated some of my favorite elements from our trip into  two statuette characters that represented our experience.
